Historical Society Speaker Series Opens April 3rd With An Anthusiastic Audience

Forty New Hope Historical Society members and guests attended the opening lecture in the Society’s 15th Annual Speaker Series, “Mondays at the Mansion” on April 3rd at the Parry Mansion.
Linda Carol Gray, a handwriting and calligraphy expert presented a history of handwriting in the United States and its impact on the political and economic development of the nation. It was a fascinating discussion that highlighted the various methodologies and training programs that were used throughout our history. Attendees were delighted that Linda created personalized bookmarks for them using her outstanding talent for calligraphy.
A wine and cheese reception followed enabling guests to meet the speaker and discuss her topics further.
The Speaker Series continues next Monday April 10th at 5 pm at the Parry Mansion featuring Gerry Wild and Fun with the Ukulele. Wear your Hawaiian shirt and bring your ukulele to this fun session. By Roy Ziegler
